Italian motorcycle maker Benelli has revealed its newest middleweight naked bike, the TNT 550, set to arrive in 2026. The TNT 550 marks Benelli’s renewed focus on the competitive mid-displacement street naked segment, blending modern tech with a distinctive Italian design language.

Engine and Performance

At the heart of the TNT 550 is a 554 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, carried over from its fully-fared sibling, the Tornado 550. This powerplant delivers around 56 hp at 8,250 rpm and 54 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, offering a balance of everyday usability and spirited performance for urban riding and highway cruising alike.

Chassis and Suspension

Benelli has built the TNT 550 around a steel tube trellis frame, staying true to the brand’s established engineering approach. The front end features 41 mm upside-down forks with adjustment for preload, compression, and rebound, while the rear monoshock also offers preload and rebound tuning. This setup promises confident handling and responsive feedback on a variety of road surfaces.

Braking and Tyres

Stopping power comes from twin 320 mm front discs with four-piston radial calipers and a 260 mm rear disc, supported by an ABS system that can be switched off when riding conditions allow. The TNT 550 rolls on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli Angel GT II tyres, further enhancing grip and road feel.

Electronics and Features

Benelli equips the TNT 550 with a modern 5-inch TFT display that integrates navigation, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity, bringing tech normally found on higher-end machines to this mid-segment naked. Two rider modes — Normal and Sport — are included, with traction control standard and switchable to suit rider preference and road conditions.

Design and Positioning

Styling on the TNT 550 leans into muscular, contemporary naked aesthetics, with sharp lines and a distinctive presence that aims to stand out in urban environments and on open roads. The bike is expected to appeal to riders seeking a blend of everyday practicality, modern equipment, and performance without stepping up to larger, heavier machines.

Availability

Benelli has confirmed that the TNT 550 will be launched sometime in 2026, though global pricing and market-specific availability are yet to be announced. There are indications that versions suited for A2 licence holders may also be offered, broadening its appeal to younger or less experienced riders.

Summary: The 2026 Benelli TNT 550 is a fresh addition to the Italian brand’s naked bike lineup, combining a proven twin-cylinder engine, modern electronics, adjustable chassis components, and contemporary styling. Positioned to compete in a rapidly growing segment, it promises strong everyday performance with a fun, engaging character.
